David S. Johnson, President

In January 2009 David founded HR Dynamics for the purpose of providing small and mid-size businesses with outsourced human resource services. His passion is to bring the HR professionalism found in large corporations to businesses in the Treasure Coast.
David has 23 years experience in the executive recruiting industry. He has worked at most every level of management recruiting for Fortune 1000 companies, start ups, and small family owned companies. He began his career with Avon where he pioneered the use of testing and in-depth interviewing techniques to select and train the Avon sales representatives as well as the sales management team.
In 1985 he entered the executive search field recruiting middle management for large companies such as United Technologies, Rockwell, and General Instruments. In 1990 he became one of the founders of IMCOR with the unique concept of recruiting “interim executives” who functioned as project managers and turnaround specialists.
In 2000, David became the “in-house” HR advisor and recruiter for two private equity firms…Hunt Private Equity in Dallas and Hampshire Equity Partners in New York. His work focused on evaluating executives for early stage growth companies and basic industrial companies.
David received his BS Degree from Washington & Lee University. He moved to Vero Beach from New York City in 2008. In 2010 he was elected to the Board of Dogs For Life; the 501 C3 that operates a membership park and trains Service Dogs. In January of 2012 he will become President of Dogs for Life.
Karel Smith, Vice President – Staffing

Karel joined HR Dynamics in January 2009 as part of the start-up team. She is responsible for placing qualified candidates in temp or temp to perm positions with our clients and is also responsible for on-going customer communications, follow-up and problem solving. While her primary focus is staffing and customer service, she also updates all printed and web based marketing materials.
Karel began her career in upstate New York as an entrepreneur. From 1986 – 2000 she founded and operated a successful apparel accessory company.
She moved to the Treasure Coast in 2000, joining a real estate developer in an administrative function. In 2006 she returned to upstate New York to take a human resources position with Macy’s Department Store. In this position she became familiar with HR policy, benefits, and payroll issues. She was given responsibility for the day to day management of new human resources programs.
Karel has a BA Degree in Psychology from SUNY (Oswego, NY). She lives in Vero Beach where she participates in various local charity events.
Donna Leemon, Vice President – Client Relations
A native of New Jersey, Donna has more than 25 years of Human Resource experience. She specializes in Employee Relations and Learning and Development. From 1985 to 1995 she was with New Jersey based Sun National Bank. From 1995 to 2008 she was with Minotola National Bank (Acquired by Susquehanna Bancshares in 2006) where she held the position of Vice President, Branch Administrator and was responsible for the bank’s training programs for 200 employees. In 2008 she started her own consulting company focused on customer service training. She is also certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the Society for Human Resource Management.
Very active in the communities where she lived and worked, Donna worked extensively with Habitat for Humanity and the Gloucester County Animal Shelter. She has also done volunteer work for Pet Savers, Cherry Hill Food Bank and The Salvation Army, taught Sunday School for many years at St. Andrews United Methodist Church and was a County Chair for the United Way. Donna is currently a member of the Exchange Club of the Treasure Coast and the Treasure Coast Human Resources Association here in Vero Beach.
In 2011 Donna moved to Vero Beach and joined HR Dynamics. She partners with HR Dynamics’ clients to assist them with their HR needs and provide guidance on training and compliance issues as well as staffing and leasing services. Donna plans to cultivate close working relationships with our client companies in Indian River County to develop customized and targeted HR programs in areas such as Employee Handbooks, Internal and External Customer Service Training and Performance Review Programs. By getting to know each client individually and forming a strategic partnership Donna will be able to offer outsourced solutions for all of our clients’ needs, allowing them to focus on critical business functions.
Nancy Villafane – Director of Client Services
Nancy moved to Florida from Chicago in 1992. Her career covers a broad range of industries including pharmaceutical, construction and retail.
From 2003 to 2008 Nancy was the Design Studio Manager for Centex Homes in Boyton Beach, Florida. She was responsible for the recruiting, training and management of a 10 person design department. From 2008 to 2010 Nancy was the Sales and Marketing Manager for Heritage Carpet and Tile in Boyton Beach where she was responsible for generating new business with general contractors and home builders.
Nancy joined HR Dynamics in November 2011. She will focus on educating local businesses on the benefits of Employee Leasing from the standpoint of outsourcing the burdensome HR function while enjoying a cost savings. Nancy takes a hands-on approach to understanding the nuances of a potential client’s business and then creates a custom designed product to meet the client’s needs.
Additionally, Nancy will use her strong skills in interviewing and resume screening to assist with HR Dynamics’ staffing and recruiting services.
Having recently moved with her husband and young children to Vero Beach, Nancy plans to get involved with local charities and the PTA.
